PARTNERS > CHAIRMAN, ULF ASCHAN
Ulf Aschan was brought up in Kenya and Sweden. Following his schooling as well as the compulsory military service in Sweden, he worked as an apprentice professional hunter in Kenya with his father, Kris. This experience had an everlasting impact on Ulf.
Unsure if he belonged in Kenya or in Europe, Ulf spent several years with the Swedish-American line on one of their cruise ships. During this time, he participated in a number of cruises to the West Indies and twice sailed around the world.
Spending a year with the United Nations forces in what used to be the Belgian Congo was a serious eye-opener. This was followed by several years in Stockholm, where some kind of "business" career was supposed to develop.
Very little came out of this venture, and in 1967, Ulf decided that Africa was where he belonged. From that year on, he has devoted his time to organizing upmarket safaris. A number of interesting and well-known personalities from many countries have been hosted by Ulf and his life companion, Marianne.
Shortly after the film "Out of Africa" was released, Ulf published a book on his Godfather, Bror Blixen, titled The Man Whom Women Loved - The Life of Bror Blixen.
